Pencil #2

Proof of discontent: Presence of pencil #2.

I’ve come to a realization with a forum thread I currently answered. “Bakit #2 ang pencil #2?”. A confusing question but I guess it simply asks kung bakit tinawag na #2 si pencil #2. Okay, perhaps a lot of us will say these kinds of answers:

Okay. I accept these kinds of answers, pero, I guess that question wants to extract something deeper in us. Sa tingin ko, it talks about life and what life is giving you. If I were asked with that kind of question, my answer would be this..

Ginawang the best si pencil #2 kesa kay pencil #1. Pero, ang pencil #1, hindi pwedeng i-face out sa market dahil may mga tao rin na kontento na sa efficiency ni pencil #1 when it comes to writing. “

And I guess I had a point when I said that. True. Most of us, don’t embrace life’s gifts to us. We often ask for more, wish for more and seek for more. We want everything run in a perfect pace. We want perfection. We want stability, we want comfort. But sometimes, we are blinded by our wishes. We hoard for more, even though we have enough, and most of the time, we have more than enough and sadly, we aren’t even thankful about it. I guess we better be thankful for every blessing we have. For every person given to us that made us happy and made our lives better and meaningful. For the things we have and for the things that we are receiving eventhough we are not asking for it. And for the bad stuff that’s happening to our lives. I guess we should be thankful for those awful moments that we experienced since with those moments, we found strength and we knew that we could surpass difficulties eventhough we thought that we couldn’t make it in the end. 🙂

We should learn how to be contented. I know we want life to be much more easier, sometimes, even take the “wrong” shortcut to life’s success, and before we know it, we get bruised along the way. As we all could see, being contented is hard, just like the presence of pencil #3. Pencil #2 wasn’t enough, some people thought that pencil #2 was too dark, so they created pencil #3, who consists a much lighter lead than pencil #2 and #1. But so much of the pencils, whatever pencils we might have in life, never forget to express gratitude. Because we are like sharpeners, and those pencils are things and happenings/decisions we make in life. Those pencils might ruin our blades in time, but never regret it. Life isn’t perfect. Life only becomes great when we start appreciating it and be contented with it.

Learn to be contented and choose the best pencil, and never forget to be the best sharpener in town. 🙂

    true…

we have to be thankful for everything that we have, never expecting for something better… we’re lucky that we’re receiving these blessings and appreciating them would be the best… we just have to continue receiving … kung laging may mas gusto pa tayo, napapabayaan na natin kung ano na ang meron sa’tin at minsan, nag-e-expect tayo sa wala (and that’s a huge risk)… so let’s be contented =) nice post!

kelangan din natin ng sharpeners kaya let’s be cool with that! yay

Really. Seriously. Oh. I know pencil #2 might have been made out of people’s practical reasons, but, infinite possibilities my dear. 🙂 And I’m stressing out one reason out of a million. 🙂 Hope you get that.

🙂 Hi trishie! haha! Friendster na tayo!
